The Abelie Edward Goucher is a space-filling, semi-evergreen shrub with dainty, delicate purple flowers. This broad and bushy shrub grows to a final height of about 100 cm. Visually enrich your lawn. After a heavy pruning in spring, the plant first sprouts a ruddy bronze colour and later becomes a very attractive, glossy, dark green foliage. Towards autumn the foliage changes to red-brown, but remains on the plant and does not fall off. The side shoots of the abelia hang down in bunches and give the shrub a full appearance. In the flowering season, which lasts from early summer to late autumn, the abelia bears many small, delicate, violet flowers; it is one of the strong flowering plants.
Abelie Edward Goucher should be planted in a sunny, sheltered spot. The plant needs a humusy, moist and well-drained soil. In cold winters we recommend protection with fleece or jute, especially young plants need this frost protection. The abelia can also be kept as a walk-in plant.
The plants are grown in pots, so you can use them all year round.
