Galium - Large for underplanting
This low-growing forest herb with small white flowers belongs to the rennet family. Galium has a hay-like smell, especially when it has just rained. In the past, the plant was hung over the beds of newborn babies to drive away evil spirits. It prefers the shade, but grows almost everywhere, whether under a tree or a shrub. In May, the herb blooms with flat, umbellate white flowers.
True woodruff as a herb
