Yew hedge plant various sizes

The yew adds real class to any garden with its bushy, upright growth. It grows as a beautifully shaped hedge or as a yew block in your garden and thus also offers optimal privacy protection at the property boundary.

Versatile combinations with other garden plants

The rich dark green of the yew has a neutral effect on the observer and can therefore be combined with many other garden plants. For example, your yew hedge can be the backdrop to a cheerful, colourful flower border or a harmonious combination with a beautiful ground cover such as the spindle bush.

The yew as a perfect screen from neighbours

Yews are particularly practical hedging plants. They form an evergreen and frost-proof hedge with privacy protection. The shrub can easily be shaped into a solid hedge. Due to its very fine branches and needles, the hedge will eventually have a very compact appearance.

Ideal plant for topiary and garden art

Taxus baccata is a plant that has been used for centuries as a topiary or hedge in parks and gardens. If it has been neglected for many years and therefore no longer grows densely enough, it can be rejuvenated if necessary. This is because these yews are the only conifers that also sprout again from the old wood.

How to find the best place for your yew in the garden

Taxus baccata do not have any special requirements for the soil: It should be humus and rich in nutrients, well-drained and moist - just like many garden soils. A yew can be pruned all year round. However, the best time to prune is at the end of June/beginning of July. Pruning helps the plant or hedge retain its shape and branch out better, making it even denser. Use sharp hedge shears when pruning. Pruning on a cloudy, cool day prevents the cut branches and needles from burning from the sun.

The plants are grown in pots, so you can use them all year round. For 1 metre of hedge you need about 5 plants.

We wish you much pleasure with the yew in your garden.
