Rhododendron Roseum Elegans - an eye-catcher with dark pink flowers
The Rhododendron Roseum Elegans is an evergreen shrub that bears dark green flowers. It grows between two and a half and three and a half metres high. When the rhododendron shows its flowers, it amazes the observer.
Excellent on its own
When planted on its own, this rhododendron naturally shows itself to its best advantage. But it is also a feast for the eyes as a hedge. It is evergreen, bushy and grows tall. This means that the rhododendron hedge can provide excellent protection for you and your property from prying eyes from outside.
In May and June the rhododendron is in flower. Then the rhododendron is in full bloom and becomes a feast for the eyes. It shows its full flowering splendour. The dark pink flowers form a beautiful combination with the dark green leaves. The single rhododendron flower is funnel-shaped and covers the plant in large numbers.
Care and location of the Rhododendron Roseum Elegans
The rhododendron prefers a humusy, lime-free soil. It should be shady to semi-shady. The rhododendron should not be placed in full sun, it does not tolerate that.
This shrub is considered easy to care for. It only needs regular watering. It appreciates rainwater, as this is lime-free. In winter you do not need to take any special precautions for the rhododendron. It will withstand it without protection and can cope well with sub-zero temperatures. Only if it is a potted plant should the root area be protected and the pot covered with bubble wrap or something similar.
You can use a rhododendron you buy here all year round: it is grown in a pot. You can plant the rhododendron wherever you want without any problems.
The rhododendron fits üeverywhere
This shrub with its dark green leaves looks good in any garden: whether in a normal house garden, a country style garden or a romantic garden: it enriches every garden and delights its viewers when it starts to flower.
Combined with rhododendrons in other flower colours, it shows to advantage. For a planted area, you should calculate with five plants per square metre. For a hedge, you should buy two to three rhododendrons per linear metre. This can be a Rhododendron Roseum Elegans or a Rhododendron hybrid Red Jack.
You can also plant the rhododendron in a pot: if it is on a shady balcony or terrace.
The plants are grown in pots, so you can use these plants all year round.
